Lucy Andrea Burbank Social mailer

The Burbank Creative Arts Center is pleased to welcome artist Lucy Chamberlain and Andrea LaHue for their May exhibition, entitled River to the Sea.  The artist reception is Friday, May 5, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm, and will continue through May 26th.

Having known each other for over 20 years, artists Lucy Chamberlain and Andrea LaHue have long looked forward to a combined exhibition.  The celebration of nature is at the core for both Chamberlain, a glass artist and LaHue, a painter.  Illustrious flowers, natural forms, light and movement come to mind.  What might be found and fed by a river, on its way to becoming the sea, are explored and illuminated in this exhibition.  Both Chamberlain and LaHue tapped into a familiar channel of natural wonder and have masterfully expressing themselves in their respective mediums.

Burbank Creative Arts Center: Already known as the media capital of the world, Burbank bursts onto the scene as a colorful, cultural arts destination for all ages! The goals are simple: to introduce and support cultural arts, provide quality art experiences, and offer exciting arts friendly venues and businesses for every generation. Street Art for ACLU: Artsy Benefit Auction 2017

Here is some information from the page on Artsy for the ACLU auction:

Street Art for ACLU: Benefit Auction 2017

Bidding closes Apr 30 7:00 PM EDT

ACLU of Southern California + Artsy present Street Art for ACLU: Benefit Auction 2017, featuring Shepard Fairey, Colette Miller, Knowledge Bennett, and more.

For nearly 100 years, the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) has been our nation’s guardian of liberty, working in a multitude of ways to preserve the individual rights and liberties that our system of governance was established to provide. In the current political climate, the importance of the ACLU’s efforts is manifold. Art, specifically street art, has long functioned as a political tool—even impacting international politics in profound ways.

We have gathered over forty significant contemporary artists—the large majority of them street artists—to raise awareness for the ACLU and generate support for the organization’s invaluable efforts.

Bidding will be open exclusively on Artsy and will close at 4:00pm PST on April 30th, 2017 (7:00pm ET).

Here is the link to the auction.
